Back in May 2024, we highlighted how <\/span>Holley Navarre Middle School<\/b><\/a> in Florida<\/a> was seeing <\/span>transformative growth<\/b> with Progress Learning (<\/span>Read the original article here<\/span><\/a>). At the time, former Assistant Principal Peter Della Ratta praised Progress Learning as \u201c<\/span>the best thing in all my 20 years of being in <\/span><\/i>Santa Rosa County Schools<\/span><\/i><\/a>.\u201d He and other educators shared how it saved teachers time, helped students close learning gaps, and provided powerful tools for standardized test preparation.<\/span><\/p>\n

Now, we\u2019re checking back in to see how Progress Learning has become even more integrated into the classroom! One standout example? <\/span>7th grade ELA teacher Alma Fowler<\/b>\u2014a dedicated educator, small business owner, and student advocate\u2014who is using Progress Learning to <\/span>create a more structured, engaging, and student-driven learning experience<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Building Student Ownership in Learning<\/b><\/h2>\n

Mrs. Fowler continues to implement <\/span>structured daily routines<\/b> that help students take ownership of their learning. Each day, a student <\/span>reads aloud the lesson\u2019s objectives and standard<\/b>, setting the tone for class and reinforcing key learning goals. This <\/span>student-led approach<\/b> fosters accountability and ensures that every learner understands what they should master before leaving the classroom.<\/span><\/p>\n

To further <\/span>track and celebrate progress<\/b>, Mrs. Fowler utilizes the <\/span>Green Dot Challenge<\/b>, a Progress Learning feature that encourages students to work toward mastering standards. Her <\/span>visual tracking system<\/b> (pictured below) keeps students motivated, providing <\/span>clear, tangible evidence of their growth<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Engaging Learning Stations with Progress Learning<\/b><\/h2>\n

Mrs. Fowler has also <\/span>expanded her use of interactive learning stations<\/b> to ensure students stay engaged while mastering complex ELA concepts. One of the most impactful stations? <\/span>The Progress Learning Station<\/b>, where students:<\/span><\/p>\n
